KawAZ is the Azimuth angle calculation program for Radio Amateur
General
It is sometimes annoying us to accurately point the beam of antenna toward the target location. It is actually hard job for juggling with the antenna rotator, key, microphone, spitting dial tuning, logs, etc. in actual operation. KawAZ is the software to save such chaotic state and relief you from one of these hassles.
KawAZ performs the simple geographical calculation of the beam heading direction on globe and it gives you the short pass direction. The result of calculation comes up with the image of direction compass to give you the visual and tangible understanding with regards to the beam heading direction.
Features
KawAZ shows the azimuth angle of target location from your location by figures and image of compass.
KawAZ has the target location information in its internal database. The longitude and latitude of target location can be obtained from DXCC prefix code of entity or from Country/Entity name, alternatively .
Your home location could be obtained from the data base.
Up to 10 Home Location can be stored in memory, for convenience of Field operation.
Target location and home location can be given with actual figures if the location cannot be found in the database.
Target location name is shown with the calculation results to ensure the Target.
6 Working Memory function and 10 Reference Memory function available. The target location data is stored in non-volatile memory (ini file). The retrieved data is still valid after change of your home location.
Size of the compass image can be changed to support small resolution display.
Various selection and coordinates of Compass color. Make your own (MYO) color coordinate.
Home location and other customized information is saved and restored in internal memory.
Working on Windows OS.
Decimal point character can be swapped between dot period (.) and comma (,) as per local set up of your pc.
Distance to the target location can be shown in kilo meter or in mile. The calculation of target location is done on the precise ellipsoid Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS80) to give the highest accuracy of distance, particularly for long distance DX stations.
Offset Angle can be given both for Compass Grid and Direction Compass separately. This will make beam heading just making the compass image mapping both on KawAZ and your rotator even it has any offset angle. Five (5) offset angle setting can be preset in KawAZ.
Time Clock for Target Location, GMT, Home Location available. Local time of Target Location is shown after azimuth angle calculation from Database.
Decimal – Deg.Min.Sec. calculator function added.
Coded with Delphi (TM Borland), and gives fast and quick calculation and non-dependency of Visual Basic Runtime Library.
Portability and security by its stand-alone software design with built-in database.
