Equipment was set up and the station checked out fully operational on August 1st, with its first QSO of the DXpedition logged at 5PM on Easter Island for CE0Y/I2DMI. Operator Francesco will be operating 40,20,17,15,12 and 10 meters. You may find the station on 80 meters as well, provided enough room is available to accommodate an 80 meter dipole.
Operation of CE0Y/I2DMI is slated to continue through August 9th.
Easter Island (alias Rapa Nui or Isla de Pascua) is a Polynesian island in the southeastern Pacific Ocean. It’s located at the southeasternmost point of the Polynesian triangle. It has been a special territory of the South American nation of Chile since 1888.
